Edit: Realised I can just install the Steam Link app via the desktop mode, add it to Steam as a non-steam game, and then use that for remote play instead!

Apr 7, 2022 · I tried to play a few games via remote play. I have switched the options on the Steam Deck to limit the fps to 30, and the resolution to 720p. I have a wired desktop that selected as the remote play option. Loading games takes ages. About 5min. Loading the same games just up on the desktop playing locally takes about 30seconds.

My only work around right now is to use either the steam link app on my phone to unlock the PC or to use teamviewer to unlock the PC THEN I can use use remote play via my steam deck. Huge pain. Guide + x will not bring up an onscreen keyboard. Please let me know if you guys know of a work around.

May 15, 2023 · Specifically my PC runs Steam, and I use Steam Remote Play to stream games to my Deck via 5ghz wireless, or via ethernet if I sit where I have a spare cat5 cable. I got a usb-c to RJ45 converter off aliexpress for $5, it does the trick.
