Man arrested after US tourist raped in Geneva - WRS
Mar 11, 2024 · A man has been arrested after an American tourist was raped and beaten in the middle of Geneva. The woman was waiting for a taxi at 1.30 am just outside the Confederation Centre on Sunday the 25th February. The police say the man approached her, asking if she wanted to buy drugs. She refused, the man then became violent and hit her on the head.

The vast majority are between spouses, but 14% are cases of violence against a child. Cantonal police have had to intervene more than twice a day on average.
