Oct 23, 2024 · I also attempted to downgrade my service to the 1000 plan considering that was the speed the XB7 maxes out on but surprisingly the speed output was much lower (300-500) vs being on the 2000 plan. Kudos to the Port Murray NJ Xfinity team for their understanding and patience as they exchanged 3 gateways over a 4 day period ( thanks Pat!).

Oct 5, 2024 · Hello, I was having issues with my internet on my brand new Lenovo Thinkpad and Ideapad. All other connected devices (phones, streaming devices, doorbell) were working perfectly. I finally discovered it was the combined/auto optimized bands of the XB7 Gateway. Once I split the bands, the laptops worked perfectly connecting to the 5 ghz band.

You’ll need to put your current router into Access Point mode, but this works if you have things set up for multigigabit wired networking and don’t want to use the XB7 for your router.
