Blanche "Irene" Murphy, formerly of Tehachapi, passed away in Orange County, California on Sept. 7. Irene, as she was known, was born in Golden, Colorado to Pearl and Jake Foreman on Feb. 9, 1941. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Richard Murphy, adult children, adult grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The varnish had completely deteriorated, necessitating a thorough cleaning of the mural before it was sealed.
