Oct 5, 2020 · I have found code referring to gas fire pits/fireplaces, but have not found a code specific to property line placement. Both owners are talking through lawyers so I want to be sure and support with code. State of Michigan. I would appreciate any assistance as the install directions only mention distance from house and combustibles.

Dec 24, 2024 · Worked fine as long as you remembered to call the propane truck to fill it back up every 6 months. If the small tank is located far enough from the house, gas lines properly installed, meets zoning and local ordinances, and the lady still has a working microwave if the gas doesn't get changed out - I think we would be getting close to allowing it.

Dec 16, 2009 · The fluid would be combustible (flash point over 100), not flammable, and yes, a sprinkler would probably be required in the pit only if the building were otherwise sprinklered. If the building is not sprinklered, the pit should not be sprinklered.

Oct 19, 2009 · Not a plumber or plumbing inspector. we had a house fire where it looks like they teed the line to feed a fire place. the used a connection and ran from the steel pipe to a furnace. they teed in that run for the supply to the fireplace. they used compression fittings, and unforuantly all this stuff was near a 30 year old heater burner!!!!
