A low-wisdom ranger is fine, the only things that play off of it are skills, spell saves, and spell attacks. The only thing it's essential for is multiclassing. You need 13 dex and wisdom to multiclass out. So the build of a low-wis ranger would involve focusing more on utility spells without rolls, as opposed to causing saves.
