Brent Mydland infact wrote the tune “It Doesn’t Matter”, which has the same lyrics essentially sang by (as the post article leads to believe) Barlow. However, this is inconsistent as well, for likely faint so not to strain, it is indeed Brent singing the lyrics on that track.

Jul 23, 2018 · In his book, Phil talks about having a dream the night Mydland died. He said he heard Brent's voice pleading, "Phil, I didn't mean it! I just stepped inside and the door slammed shut behind me. I didn't mean it!" He then got a call a few hours later that Brent had died.

Dec 11, 2020 · Compare this to Brent's sound, which was large and varied. Brent certainly worked solos better than Keith, and he and Jerry start to develop a dialogue between their instruments that can be heard throughout the 80s. I think another part of it is the vocals that Brent had, and while I'm not too crazy about it myself I can see why folks enjoy it.

Hard not to! One of my favorite rock keyboard players to this day! The man could fucking SHRED, and was SO creative, as well. 1000% my favorite era of the dead was the Brent Mydland years. Always made me so happy that he was also my band’s keyboard player’s favorite Dead keyboard player as well; made for some 🔥 jams!
