A new fire — the Kenneth Fire — erupted Thursday afternoon, so far spreading across 960 acres in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says that blaze is 0% contained.

The intense water demand resulting from the Palisades Fire has led Los Angeles to issue a boil water warning. The only zipcode impacted is 90272, and nearby North of Vicente. City officials have warned that the fires are leading to ash integrating into the water system and that further warnings could be issued .

State authorities previously listed the Palisades as one of the five Southern California areas with the highest concentration of potential wildfire risks. The community also is among the areas most impacted by an unavailability of insurance coverage.

Multiple wildfires erupted this week in Southern California, ravaging parts of Los Angeles County. The most destructive of the bunch, the Palisades Fire, had burned an estimated 1,000 structures as of Wednesday afternoon.
