Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* got a very short TV spot during the Super Bowl itself, but that was just a taste of the much longer trailer. A new look at Marvel’s new ragtag team of misfits and kinda-bad guys offers us a clearer look at its kinda-big-bad guy, Sentry, a Superman-like with a complicated backstory.

While Super Bowl viewers got to see a short Thunderbolts* promo, Marvel Studios released a full trailer for the film online. It’s the film’s best yet. It’s emotional and really leans into that asterisk in the title. And also the fact it has a Dr. Manhattan-level baddie turning the people of New York City into ash.

The stars of the film, including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, helped celebrate the teaser release from the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, in front of a Saturn V rocket.

The fact that the M3GAN 2.0 trailer is probably the only Super Bowl trailer this year or any to call its main character “this bitch” is exactly why we love it. AI is getting more powerful, and so is M3GAN ’s camp factor. The she-quel is out in theaters on June 27.
