ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The First Alert Weather Team has declared Sunday, January 5, a First Alert Weather Day due to the elevated potential of damaging winds and a tornado or two.

Our main threats will be Damaging winds, Large Hail, as well as Tornadoes possible, especially in areas towards the Mississippi River.

The First Alert Weather Team says there’s a cold weather advisory tonight. Here’s what you can expect: Rain is moving out while the cold air quickly moves in this evening – bundle up and stay bundled up for the rest of the week!

The threats are Strong winds up to 60-70 mph, large hail up to golf ball size, and Tornados, which will likely be an issue in the afternoon.
