As of 10 p.m. on Thursday, CenterPoint Energy has restored nearly 99 percent of customers impacted by the winter storm that moved into the Tri-State area this past Sunday. Officials say teams have worked tirelessly over the past several days to address outages from a peak of 61,

The number of families without power from this week’s Winter storm continues to decline. CenterPoint’s outage map continue to show dropping numbers through the day Thursday. These restoration efforts continue as more accumulating snow moves into the Tri-State.

CenterPoint has deployed internal, contractor and mutual aid resources to assist with power restoration efforts.

At the height of the winter storm, over 60,000 CenterPoint customers were without power. While some have been restored, there are still tens of thousands in the dark. CenterPoint says this could take several days to fully restore.

Officials say while 61,000 customers have been impacted by Winter Storm Blair since January 5, more than half of customers have already been restored across CenterPoint Energy’s Indiana electric service territory.
