Brad Pitt is not on social media, his team reminded fans, after a French woman said she was conned out of $800,000 by scammers posing as the A-list actor.

The scammers apparently convinced the woman that “Brad” needed money for cancer treatment by sending her numerous AI-generated images depicting the movie star in the hospital.

A representative for Brad Pitt is speaking out in response to recent reports that a French woman was scammed out of over $800,000 by people who posed as the actor online. "It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities,
