Apple's new M4 MacBook Pro has a significant upgrade to the display, and the company somehow forgot to mention it.

That's according to prominent display analyst Ross Young, anyway. Young took to X on Thursday to point out that Apple has adopted a "quantum dot" display for the M4 MacBook Pro.

A display analyst shared that Apple has shifted from traditional red KSF phosphor film to quantum dot film in the latest MacBook Pro models with M4.

It’ll be interesting to see if Apple adopts QD film for the M4 MacBook Air, which uses an LED display, instead of the mini-LED display in the MacBook Pro. Reports say that the new Air will be revealed in the spring of 2025 and it’s expected to be nothing more than a chip upgrade.
