Elon Musk’s support of Trump has driven a surge in users to Bluesky, a social network founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey in 2019 Bluesky, an alternative to Elon Musk’s X, has surged in popularity in the wake of Donald Trump’s election victory.

In the week following Donald Trump's election victory, around a million users have signed up for Bluesky. Much like on X, Bluesky allows individuals to post, reply, and message each other via a vertical user interface.

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey launched Bluesky in 2019, but it’s seen a surge in users migrating to the platform since Trump’s presidential election victory. The company says it gained more than 1.5 million users in the past week. Bluesky’s CEO told NewsNation its growth “marks a new era of social media — one where users are put first.”
