After a dreadful loss to the Blackhawks earlier this week, the Lightning defeated a solid Kings team by a score of 3-0.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 28 shots, Brandon Hagel scored two goals and had an assist and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-0 on Thursday night. Anthony Cirelli scored his fourth short-handed goal of the season for the Kings.

Lightning general manager Julian BriseBois believes that his team is playing better than last season despite their struggles.

Both teams tightened up defensively in the second period, so scoring chances were more limited. The Red Wings did break the tie, however. Marco Kasper got open in front of the Lightning net and redirected a puck off the post and in at 9:55.

Cam Talbot stopped nearly 30 shots in a shutout of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena.
