The Colts wanted to take the defense in a different direction this offseason.  They wanted to go from the simplicity of Gus Bradley’s scheme to something more multiple and complex, a system that would make life more difficult on opposing quarterbacks.

The Indianapolis Colts made a major hire Monday by landing one of the most hotly-pursued defensive coordinator candidates.

The Colts are hiring former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo to fill the same position in Indianapolis, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported.
