LIV Golf attempted to strike a deal with the DP World Tour over fines Jon Rahm faces for skipping events in favor of LIV, but the World Tour turned it down.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (AP) — Jon Rahm ended his first year in the LIV Golf League by closing with a 4-under 66 to win the final individual event Sunday and the season points title with its $18 million bonus.

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm shot a 4-under 66 Sunday to win the LIV Golf Chicago event and $4 million in prize money. The victory also clinched the year-end individual title and $18 million bonus for Rahm in his first season on the Saudi Arabia-backed golf tour.

Jon Rahm did just enough Sunday to hold off Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia for the victory at LIV Golf Chicago, the final individual event on the schedule this year. The win ends a winding year for Rahm in which he was great at LIV Golf events but not so great at major championships.

CEO Guy Kinnings spelled out the intricacies of the appeal process for Jon Rahm, Adrian Meronk, and Tyrrell Hatton, which ultimately may mean a Ryder Cup birth.

Jon Rahm won for the second time on the LIV Golf tour, but this time it came with a hefty prize on top of the purse itself.

Jon Rahm has literally made the most of his first year with LIV Golf, where he's earned more than $34 million.

Rahm earned $22 million— $4 million for LIV Chicago and $18 million for the season-long title—increasing his on-course winnings from LIV in 2024 to $37.9 million.

Jon Rahm has every reason to be pleased with his season after winning LIV Golf Chicago and the Individual Championship. However, he had much to say about other golfers, especially his teammate Kieran Vincent, who was relegated from LIV Golf following the final event of the season.
