Brydon Carse's efforts with with bat and ball are in vain as England suffer a two-wicket defeat by India in the second T20 international.

Brydon Carse will replace Gus Atkinson for England's second T20 International against India on Saturday while Jamie Smith has also been added to the squad.

Tilak Varma played a lone hand as he shepherded India across the finish line against England with an unbeaten 72 off 55 balls in the second Twenty20 on Saturday. Varma's third T20 half-century rescued India from 78-5 in the 10th over and chased down the target of 166 with four balls remaining.

Jos Buttler continues to play with freedom despite the departure of Ben Duckett, and heaves Washington Sundar over the rope at mid-wicket to notch his second six. He has 26 off 14 balls. Ben Duckett will do that again and again and again, that's his favourite shot and he can't believe he's go out to the sweep. It flew off the edge and onto his pad.

India seized a 2-0 lead in their five-match T20 series against England as they won by two wickets in Chennai. India won the toss and chose to bowl first, with England scoring 165-9 thanks to high scores of 45 from Jos Buttler and 31 from Brydon Carse.
