North Texas is likely to see a three-day stretch of bone-chilling cold starting Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

National Weather Service locations across Texas have forecast totals from a half-inch to five inches of snow between Monday and Tuesday.

A cold front hit North Texas overnight, bringing frigid temperatures and the potential for light snow to the region through Wednesday.

A tighter pressure gradient is in place for Friday, and North Texas will see a windy day with gusts possibly reaching up to 35 mph. This south-southwest wind will keep temperatures mild throughout the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo's opening day.

A Cold Weather Advisory will remain in effect through 9 a.m. Monday morning. The temperature will dip into the teens in many areas, and wind chill values will plummet into the single digits. More sunshine returns for most of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, but that sunshine won’t provide much warmth, with highs only climbing into the 30s.
