Aston Martin won't rule out basing the DBX crossover on a Mercedes platform, but would reportedly rather adapt the new sports car platform it's currently developing for its next-generation luxury GTs.

Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer says that the DBX electric crossover is meant to diversify the company's product lineup and be something different. In his view, it's hard to make a beautiful SUV.
