Netflix announces a My Melody & Kuromi stop-motion animated series with the animation production by the Spy x Family anime's popular WIT Studio.

Kawaii to the max, the series follows the adventures of two of the most beloved characters from Japan's Sanrio, world-famous as the creator of Hello Kitty.

Netflix has officially unveiled the first look at My Melody & Kuromi, its newest stop-motion animated series based on beloved Sanrio characters. The show is expected to make its debut sometime in July 2025.

My Melody & Kuromi comes from Toruku, which is part of WIT Studio. For Toruku, it marks a first stop-motion animation. My Melody debuted in Japan in 1975, while Kuromi was added in 2005 as a trouble-making rival to My Melody who is actually softer than she appears.
