Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta sat out his second straight practice on Thursday, raising questions about his availability for Sunday's game against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell gave encouraging injury update on two members of the offense. Left tackle Taylor Decker was ruled of action a little more than 48 hours before the team suited up against the Houston Texans due to a shoulder injury.

All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs and tight ends Sam LaPorta and Dalton Kincaid were among key players injured in Week 10 of the NFL season.

The second-year tight end has had a down season from his impressive rookie campaign, when he hauled in 86-of-120 targets for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. This year through nine games, the 23-year-old has caught 25-of-32 targets for 366 yards and three touchdowns.

LaPorta exited after hauling in a 37-yard pass from Goff that set up a score for running back David Montgomery. He was ruled questionable in the aftermath of the injury and did not return. He finished the game with three catches for 66 yards, including a second quarter 20-yard touchdown catch.

Sam LaPorta turned in his best performance of the season against the Texans on Sunday, but he exited early with a shoulder injury.
