The former partner of a young mother who took her own life has been cleared of her manslaughter. Ryan Wellings, from Bispham in Lancashire, was accused of subjecting Kiena Dawes to sustained domestic violence and abuse.

Ryan Wellings has been jailed for six-and-a-half years for the assault and abuse of Kiena Dawes. Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham sentenced Wellings to four years for coercive control, two years for ABH and six months for a separate attack on a pal.
