Notre Dame is getting a really big name to join its football coaching staff. Former Penn State assistant Ja’Juan Seider is headed to South Bend, per 247 Sports. Seider is set to coach running backs for the Fighting Irish.

New defensive coordinator Chris Ash has a tough act to follow and questions to answer, but Notre Dame has intriguing potential.

His son Vinny, who is an impressive wrestler, hosted one of the Irish’s bitter rival coaches into his home, Sean Bormet of Michigan wrestling. The social media post from the younger Freeman just looks so odd, as Bormet is obviously wearing Wolverines gear while Marcus has Notre Dame’s signature gold helmet on his shirt.

The Notre Dame football head coach was spotted ringside at this year’s WWE Royal Rumble alongside his family, including his wife Joanna Freeman and at least a few of their six children: Vinny, 17, Siena, 12, Gino, 11, Nico, 9, Capri, 7, and Rocco, 6.

Athletic director Pete Bevacqua believes Notre Dame has found the right kind of football alignment with Freeman at the center.

Penn State is losing one of its most important assistants to Notre Dame. Nittany Sports Now can confirm that RB coach and co-offensive coordinator Ja’Juan Seider is expected to accept the RB coach job in South Bend.
