RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Department of Transportation is warning the public about a scam involving toll road fees. They say the scam involves text messages claiming the recipient has unpaid toll road fees and asks them to click through to a website to pay to avoid being reported to the DMV.

The scam appears in the form of text messages to victims claiming they have outstanding toll fees and they need to pay via a website to avoid being reported to the DMV. NDOT claims that the scam is even reaching victims outside the state.
