The creative liberties taken by the Bob Dylan biopic are short-circuiting its target audience.

Move over Timotheé Chalamet, Bob Dylan might have a career in acting . . .

Chalamet not only sang all of Dylan's song for the film — he actually performed the songs live on camera, giving James Mangold, the movie's director, and others on the set "chills," Mangold told an audience at the WGA during a post-screening in Beverly Hills this month, according to Variety.

This is per an appearance on the podcast The Town With Matthew Belloni (via Consequence), where Jaysen recalled an instance of Dylan meeting with director James Mangold for a table read of the script.

Timothée Chalamet and Monica Barbaro play Bob Dylan and Joan Baez in the new biopic "A Complete Unknown." Both actors worked with vocal coaches.
