UN Secretary-General António Guterres, during his visit to the Rohingya refugee camps in southern Bangladesh, vowed to do everything in his power to prevent further hardship as drastic aid cuts threaten food supplies and other critical relief efforts.

General António Guterres on Friday described the humanitarian aid cuts by the United States and other countries in Europe as "a crime.”Guterres was on a four-day visit to Bangladesh where he is assessing the plight of more than 1 million Rohingya refugees whose future remained uncertain over possible aid cuts soon.

Antonio Guterres’ visit comes after WFP says it may have to halve food vouchers for Rohingya starting next month.
